Southeast Regional Fire School Well Attended in Antlers

On May 3-5, nearly 250 firefighters and onlookers from 17 Oklahoma counties convened in Antlers to attend the Southeast Regional Fire School presented by OSU Fire Service Training (OFST). The fire school was the third of four such 2008 offerings by OFST in a concerted effort to bring high quality, no-cost training opportunities to rural, volunteer and small company fire fighters across the state.

Added Funding Drives New Outreach Training Initiatives

Oklahoma volunteer, rural and small combination fire departments across Oklahoma are now more likely to receive no-cost training at their locations by qualified instructors. A new outreach training initiative by Oklahoma Fire Service Training at Oklahoma State University (OFST) is underway thanks to an additional funding appropriation by the State legislature.
