Tactical Problems

A frequent request from training officers and company officers is for training lessons that can be delivered in a station in 30 minutes or less.  This is intended to provide you with short tactical lessons that you can use for training your personnel.

Tactical problems will be presented for a variety of situations: structure fires, wildland fires, emergency medical care, hazardous materials, WMD and rescue.  Each problem will include a scenario description with questions for the students to answer, a list of considerations for you – the instructor – to discuss with the students, and a few digital slides to illustrate the problem (the digital slides can be printed as overheads).  What are not provided are the specific answers to the problem!  You must develop the answers based on your local resources, policies, etc.  A typical officer or instructor should be able to facilitate a problem in less than 30 minutes with a crew or small class.  You may certainly add to the scenarios, develop local slides, or add questions for discussions.  In short, you make the problem work for your training need.
