Scope/Overview:OSU's 24-hour program is recommended to on-scene emergency response teams concerned with more complex and diverse confined space incidents. Elevated confined space emergencies, for example, may require more complex extrication methods that employ rope rescue techniques. This course presents comprehensive initial training for new rescue team members, and an in-depth skill refresher for veterans. Rescue scenario training will incorporate rope rescue disciplines that include belaying and rappelling, simple mechanical advantage systems, practical lowering and hauling exercises, and more. Hands-on training dominates this 24-hour agenda, which meets or exceeds rescue team training requirements of the OSHA regulation (29 CFR 1910.146). Key Topic(s):
