Rope Rescue Technician

Scope/Overview:

Construct multi-point anchor systems, along with compound and complex mechanical advantage systems for the purpose of performing vertical rescues from high angle anchor points.

Prerequisite(s):

  • Rope Rescue Operations Part 1
  • Rope Rescue Operations Part 2
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 20 feet above the ground
  • Physically fit

Accredited Certification Level:

IFSAC accreditation pending.

Standards Met:

NFPA 1006, Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications, Chapters 5 & 6, 2003 ed. NFPA 1670, Standard for Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents, Chapters 4 & 6, 2004 edition.

Student Equipment:

NFPA compliant protective helmets, boots, and gloves (rescue PPE is preferred).
