Hazardous Materials Technician for WMD-HazMat Emergencies

Scope/Overview:

Comprehensive, performance-based training that provides emergency responders with knowledge and skills to qualify for IFSAC accredited certification--Hazardous Materials First Responder: Technician Level. The 89-hour course covers all aspects of NFPA 472, Chapter 6, and will enable students to:

Special Features:

Hazmat Skills Trailer used to simulate a wide range of emergencies involving rail cars, tanker trucks, cylinders of various sizes, totes, drums, and pipe/valve leaks.

89 hours

Prerequisite(s):

  • Hazardous Materials Awareness for WMD-HazMat Emergencies
  • Hazardous Materials Operations Certification

Accredited Certification Level:

IFSAC accredited certification. The exam requires an additional eight (8) hours upon course completion.

Leather gloves, eye protection/Safety glasses, steel toed footwear, hard hat/helmet
