Vehicle Extrication Basics
Scope/Overview:
Designed to address NFPA 1006 level in the technical knowledge and skills necessary for fire/emergency medical services personnel to effectively manage emergencies requiring vehicle extrication.

Standard(s) Met:
- NFPA 1006, Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications, Chapters 5 & 8, 2003 edition. NFPA 1670, Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents, Chapter 4 and 8.3, 2004 edition.
Student Equipment:
- Full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required and includes Firefighter Turn-outs - Boots, Pants, Coat, Fire Helmet with Chin Strap and Shield or goggles and Leather gloves.
PPE shall meet the current NFPA standards.
