Confined Space Entry and Rescue
Scope/Overview:
For employees who perform entry rescue services to relatively uncomplicated permit spaces, OSU's two-day program will meet minimum requirements of OSHA 1910.146 (k). The training agenda considers the facility's unique confined space hazards and complexities, the employer emergency response plan, and the rescue team building process among varied experience levels. Participants learn proper procedures for entry type rescue into unobstructed confined spaces where victims can be seen from the entry. Typically the spaces accommodate two or more rescuers with the victim, and the hazards are identified, isolated and controlled. More complex confined space rescue situations will be covered in the 24-hour Confined Space/Structural Rescue course.
